Permanent Birth Control

This is something I have debated on sharing for a while. But it is an important subject in most women's lives.
Not long after our son was born hubby and I decided we were done having kids. I wanted to take permanent measures so I didn't have to remain on "the pill" forever, which is not good for your body. Or ever have to worry about it again.
A good friend of mine had the Essure procedure done several years prior and told me about it. Once I knew there was an easy option for me, I wanted to get it done.

All in all I would much rather pregnancy be under the control of my own body. If my body wants to spontaneously decide I need to be pregnant again then so be it. There have been cases of a vasectomy failing. In fact when I went in to get the Essure procedure done the doctor mentioned they had had a few cases recently.

What is the Essure procedure?

Find New Value For Your Kids' Used Things StorkBrokers.com

Babies need so much STUFF!!! A lot of the stuff is Big; cribs, changing tables, strollers! Our children go through so much clothing and usually don't wear anything for very long. Sometimes only once or not at all. What about all the Toys, Toys, Toys!

So, what do parents do with all the used kid items we no longer need?? Give it away, donate it or sell it. I don't know about you, but I would much rather be able to sell my kids old baby items so I have money for the new stuff!! I also like to find things lightly used at a cheaper price rather than pay full price!
Where can we go to do all this??

Etsy Sellers Beware!!

A friend of mine has a Etsy shop. Several months ago she told me she had gotten an email from a blogger wanting to do a review in exchange for merchandise. Knowing I was a blogger she wanted my opinion on weather or not I thought she should do it.

She forwarded me the following email (this was the second email from the blogger, first email discussed merchandise wanted in exchange):
"My process is that you can choose to be just reviewed or you can do a contest or giveaway, it doesn't cost any extra for contests. You would just let me know what you wanted to giveaway for the contest and the winner will contact you directly through etsy. I usually charge $30-$50 for the reviews.... but since these two items together are almost in that price range, I wouldn't charge you for the post. I will need you to send me the items above for the review, so I can review them.. and that's it. After item is received, I will write up a questionnaire and email it to you... once i get that back.. i will then give you your feature date. On that day, you will be able to be seen by 8,000+ people. that's it!"
Is it just me, or does this sound a little fishy?

(Asperger's) Do you watch Parenthood?

Up until a few months ago I had heard of the show but didn't know anything about it. So when my sister told me that one of the child characters (Max) on the show has Asperger's, I was intrigued.
Well, at the time I had already missed the first whole season and most of the second... I couldn't just start watching in the middle, I had to see it from the beginning (I love the internet)! It took me a while, but I am now caught up and have seen all the episodes that have aired! I'm totally hooked on the show!

I love that the show portrays a child with Asperger's. But it kinda makes me sad too. I wonder how much my son will be like Max. What my/his future holds.

I needed a break...

Sorry I have been MIA. I just needed a break, I lost the desire to write, anything... I always have a hard time in the beginning of a deployment (who wouldn't right). How could it possibly be easy.
It's not, deployments suck. The first month is always tough while I adjust to everything. While I get used to being a single parent. This is our 8th deployment in 9 years. I guess I have learned how to deal with it better (I don't cry myself to sleep at night anymore), but it doesn't get any easier. If anything it got harder because our first deployment I didn't have any kids yet, I was pregnant. I only had myself to take care of. Then there were a few where I only had one child. This is the 4th deployments where I have had two children to take care of. I'll manage, I always do.
Luckily I have a good friend who will help me out if I need it.

~ Daddy's Send-off ~

The Marine's Saluting during Colors, which is played every morning at 8AM for the raising of the flag.

It was Hubby's idea for me to help hold his gun....

It was hot outside so we hung out in the van while waiting for Daddy to get on the bus.
