Daddy will miss....

Both our children's birthdays

Summer vacation

Our son's first day of Preschool (he has never even been in daycare)
Our daughter beginning 3rd grade

Their growth and daily life, who knows how many more visits from the tooth fairy our daughter will have over the next 7 months.

Halloween
Thanksgiving

ME

He will be home before Christmas :)

And so, deployment number 8 has begun.... Daddy made a paper chain countdown the day before he left. The kids will remove 1 link a week. 1 a day would have been way too many to make and too long, over 220 links... Once its down to 2 or 3 weeks left I will make another one that we can countdown the days on. Or just add links to this one. We don't know the exact day he will be back, I wont know until its upon us. So, with paper chains or countdowns I always over estimate and make extra just in case. Assume it will be longer, that way, if it's shorter time, it's a pleasant surprise instead of a disappointment.

  1. Very cute idea. I can't imagine having to go through this, from either side. You are a strong woman to be able to be all that you need to be for all those months. Hats off to you!!! I would also like to say thank you to your husband for serving our country and protecting each of us! God bless you all! ♥ BJ
