The Looming Deployment...

I hate this time. I know our days together are numbered. It's down to the weeks. I try not to let myself get bummed, I try to focus on the positives, not that there are many. He will be getting paid more. In the evenings after the kids are in bed I can do whatever I want around the house, weather I want to sit on the computer all evening or watch whatever I want on TV. I don't mind the time to myself sometimes. It's the single parenting that's that hardest part about deployments...
He will be gone for 7 months. This will be our 8th deployment. Hubby has been in for 9 years and 4 months. There are people who out-rank him, who have been in much longer and haven't done near as many deployments as he has. It's just been the luck of the draw for us... Wherever we go for our next duty station he will be getting a job where he is Non-Deploy-able! That means 3 years with NO DEPLOYMENTS!!! A very much deserved/earned break! This will be the last deployment for a while! I can at least look forward to that.

  1. God bless your husband and family .. I hope the 7 months flies by and he is home safe ...Also I thank you all for serving this country because being a single mom while he is away is hard

  2. I am a new follower and would like to let you know that I admire you. I just recently got married to the love of my life and with that came the Army. He has not been deployed yet and I would not even know how to react if he did. But if he does I know that there are women like you all around the world who can help me. I hope that some day I can be as strong as you.Thank you for all you and your husband do for this nation.

  3. Here is a hug to help when he is gone. One for hubby and big thanks for keeping us all save & for the family for your sacrifices as well.

  4. You know I am here for you as you were here for me when my son was deployed.
I will be adding your hubs to my prayers along with you and the kids.
Here's to a very quick 7 months and a safe return.
    Love & Hugs always!
