Mommy, Where's Daddy?

So, Hubby has been gone for about 2 weeks now out in the field. He will be home in another 2 weeks. This past week, my poor little boy keeps asking "Where's Daddy?", "Is Daddy Here?". I tell him Daddy is at work and Daddy is away, because that's the only thing he can understand. But I think those answers are just not sufficient enough anymore. I think he has figured out that "Work" is supposed to be, Daddy leaves in the morning and comes home at night. Not, him being gone for weeks at a time.
I tried to tell Booboo that daddy was training, and he said "DADDY'S ON A TRAIN!!?? (He loves trains, especially Thomas).
He's only 3, how do I make him understand words like, Training, in the Field, Deployment... Poor little guy. At least he got to talk to Daddy today (he usually only gets to call me late at night when the kids are already in bed) which made him happy!

The Rose Dress - For the Woman in You

It's time for the annual Marine Corp Birthday Ball! Which means, I need a dress! A friend of mine ordered her dress online from The Rose Dress and loved it! So I decided to check out the site as well.
One of the difficulties with finding a dress for the ball is Color! In my opinion there are only a few colors that really look good and compliment the Marine Corp Dress Blues; red, white, light-blue, royal-blue, or maybe gold. Gold doesn't work for my skin, last year I wore white, and I wore red the year before. So I was really hoping to find a blue dress this year.

The Rose Dress has a huge selection and all the dresses are available in multiple color options! There are several dress category's such as, "Wedding Dresses", "Flower Girl Dresses", "Bridesmaid Dresses" I ended up looking in the "Prom Dresses" category because those dresses fit the style I was looking for. (I went to prom 12 years ago... Shhh, dont tell). The search option was a huge time saver also! I was able to search by price, size and color to find exactly what I wanted! What do you think of the dress I picked? I'm getting it in royal-blue! I love the back!
Make sure and stop by for Wordless Wednesday on Nov. 24th to see pictures from the Ball of me in this dress and my handsome husband in his Blues!

The Rose Dress is on Facebook!
(That's not me in the pictures, I snagged them from the site. My dress has not arrived in the mail yet)

Free Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend

Especially mine, Diamonds are my birth stone!
Look what arrived in the mail, diamond stud earrings!
From diamondearrings.org There not real, unfortunately. But there still quite pretty! And because there simulated diamond earrings, I can wear them without the fear of loosing one!
Check out the video for a side by side comparison of simulated diamonds (larger stud) versus read diamonds (smaller stud).

Aloha Friday - What's Your Costume?

Aloha Friday
This Weeks Question:
Who's dressing up in your household for Halloween? What will they be?

A: Princess will be Tinkerbell, and Bobo will be a Tiger!
Just the kids are dressing up this year, not me. Hubby's away so we wont be dressing up together. Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind and put on a costume to take the kids trick-or-treating.

Postcard Swap: MINNESOTA 15 of 50

I was a little confused when this one showed up because I was sure we had gotten the same postcard before. Which after thinking about it for a minute I remembered we had. But the other one was not part of the postcard swap, It was from my BFF E. who lives in Minnesota. Her and I had our daughters (who are also friends) send postcards to one another a few months ago. It just so happened, that she had sent the exact same card.

Minnesota State Facts (from the back):
Origin of Mississippi River
Fish: Walleye
Insect: Monarch Butterfly (my favorite)
Capital: St. Paul

Every week a family from a different state sends out their postcards (in theory we should receive 1 card each week). Click the Topic link "Postcard Swap" below to see the other cards we have gotten so far!

Missing, Everyone...

One of the many trials with Military Life is that we always seem to be far away from family. Especially now, were out in the middle of the ocean.
At out last duty station, I made a very good friend, the kind of friend who you instantly "click" with and whom you can confide in. It made it harder to move knowing I may never see her again. We try our best to keep in touch, but she is a single mom with two kids and she works a lot. Not to mention there is a 5 hour time difference between us, so it makes it hard to catch each other on the phone.

I do have one good friend here so far, my neighbor S. But again, I know, eventually we will both move from here... Its the same scenario with my old friends from my "hometown" its hard to keep in touch. At least there's Facebook right, LOL. How would we all keep in touch without Facebook???

Anyway, its hard, not getting to see our families on a regular basis. But, that's the way it goes. If I only had a money tree, then I could afford to fly everyone out here to visit...
