Thanksgiving Day Explosion!

I just realized I never did tell this story... Enough time has gone by now that I can laugh about it all, when at the time I was annoyed, embarrassed, a little angry even.
It's Thanksgiving, lots of people are bustling around my kitchen cooking, making messes, getting things ready for our fabulous dinner...
My son was being a little clingy at the moment and wanted me to pick him up and get him something to drink. So, while holding him, I walked over and opened the refrigerator.
Next thing I know, my son and I are doused with orange juice, along with the floor, and THE CEILING!
My husband and one of his (Marine's) friends had been arranging things into the refrigerator shortly before to make it all fit and apparently one of them (both pointed blame at the other) had set the orange juice container in there in a BAD place so that when I (the innocent victim) opened the door, it fell out, hit the floor, which caused the lid to pop off and juice went EVERYWHERE!!!
Needless to say, I had to change my clothes and I had taken a lot of time picking out the outfit I wanted to wear that day. It was a really cute skirt! I don't have many skirts and that was my favorite one! My poor son freaked out, I just stood there for a few minutes not knowing what to do.
Hubby took Booboo and cleaned him up so I was able to dry off and go change... The other Marine partly responsible helped by moping the floor and wiping down the ceiling...

  1. Don't you just hate when things like that happen? It always seems to happen when you have company and when you have on one of your favorite outfits. You also have to keep your cool in front of everybody, dammit! Poor thing.
So glad your hubby and his buddy cleaned up and took care of Booboo.
