Randomness: Shopping, Obama, Baking and Rain, Oh-My....

It's been a busy week! Hubby is on leave, Princess is off school, lots of last minute shopping to do! We also have a house guest, the younger sister of one of Hubby's Marines is visiting for Christmas and he lives in the Barracks. She cant stay there with him, so she is staying with us! She is great with the kids, and they adore her, so its been fun for them!
I have been busy baking and grocery shopping today. I had to take some detours on my way to the commissary because President Obama was at the Golf course right down the street from my house! Also, we passed his car convoy on our way home from going out to breakfast this morning!
That's the closest I have every been to a President, or anyone "that" important. I have never even meet any celebrity's...
Whenever the President is in Hawaii he visits the base I live on and goes golfing or to the gym and for security they close down roads and have to block traffic and such.

I still have more baking to do, I plan on making Banana Bread, we always make Peanut Blossom Cookies for Santa, and I have a rice-krispie treat ornament kit (shaped like ornaments, made to eat)! Fun Fun Fun!!!

Luckily the weather has finally improved! It poured rain off and on from Sunday through Tuesday, it was gloomy and yucky... Now its finally back to the normal 80+ degrees! Which I love, but its still a little weird to have Christmas without snow... I grew up in Colorado.

  2. What a great way to spend the week, getting ready for Christmas.
I knew the President was in Hawaii, but never thought about how much of a hassle that would be for you guys, what a pain, hope it didn't take you too long to get home.
Can't wait to see your photos from Christmas morning.
