Postcard Swap: Kansas 10 of 50

This has been sitting on my desk for a few weeks now.

Written on the back of the postcard:
"Kansas produces nearly 1/5 of all wheat grown in the US, enough to provide each person on earth with 5 loaves each year. Dodge City is the windiest city in the United States. Kansas was the first state to ratify the 15th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which gave African-American men the right to vote. Wyatt Earp, James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok and William B. "Bat" Masterson were three of the legendary lawmen who kept peace in frontier towns like Abilene, Dodge City, Ellsworth, Hays, and Wichita."

Every week a family from a different state sends out their postcards (in theory we should receive 1 card each week). Click the Topic link "Postcard Swap" below to see the other cards we have gotten so far!

  1. I'm a Kansas girl (born and raised) and one of my favorite places, the place I feel most at peace is seeing wheat fields. I used to love walking along the country mile, while the wind would blow gently....nothing like it!
