  1. I can't stand all the color coded things we need to buy it's ridiculous. Makes school shopping harder and more tidious. Remember when we were kids we could use what ever notebook we wanted and it didn't have to be a certain color. I don't like the fact the lower grades share things either. What I send my child should stay with my child not osme other students.

  2. Oh yes! And the restrictions are crazy... can't have a backpack... can't have fun erasers, etc. Our schools try to make everything so uniform and boring, but the list is almost 2 full pages. Crazy!

  3. Yes it is- and I'm SOOO glad I don't have any lists to follow, now that I'm homeschooling my three. We can do whatever we want! Woohoo!!!

  4. This is my first time with the school list and I have to say that I don't get why I need to buy so many things and only in whatever brand they desire

So I agree that it's ridiculous

  5. Yes it is a pain in the butt but I sorta like it because I love the feeling of new notebooks new pens etc. I love buying stuff when I was in college cause I could get WHATEVER I wanted!

  9. You know, when I was teaching it was a lot more difficult to get everything for my classroom. This year the list for my son (going into 2nd grade) is not too horrible. I actually enjoy finding bargains and miss getting everything fun like I used to.

  10. My daughter seem to want to buy everything new. I really want her to shop the house then we will go to the store. I found half to stuff on the list they do not use!

  11. I used to think it was a pain in the butt to shop for school supplies. But, recently our schools made the teachers scale back their lists (they used to have everything from ziplock bags to copy paper to clorox wipes and more). Now, it doesn't seem to be as bad. Also, my kids are getting older, so their supply requirements are not as much.

    Happy Friday.

  14. It's a pain. There are so many particular things they have to have in middle school.
