Party's Over..... :(

I was sick and in a fog last week so I am late but still trying to make the rounds from the Ultimate Blog Party. Better late than never right...
Well, I loved the comments I got from my party post and my comment game was a lot of fun, so I though I would answer the questions as well:

Do the monsters live under your bed or in the closet?
I think they live in the game closet - it would be the most fun.

What's on your bedside table?
A touch lamp (I love my lamp), alarm clock, a coaster, 2 different kinds of lotion, all 4 Twilight books, books 6 & 7 from Harry Potter and The Host by Stephenie Meyer (just finished it).

What are you having for dinner tonight?
The kids and I had chicken nuggets - Hubby's not home (he's training).

What is the last TV show you watched?
Charmed re-run on TNT this morning.

How many eggs are in your fridge right now?

What are you looking forward to in the next month?
Finding out where our next duty station will be. Probably Hawaii, but no official word yet.

How many pets do you own and what are their most annoying habits?
A cat and a dog - Dog likes to bark when the doorbell rings on TV - Cat likes to sleep on the couch at night leaving a pile of fur on it.

Do you make your bed every morning?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no

What would your Dream Vacation Be? And do you think you will ever get to take it?
To Australia - probably not

What is your favorite hobby?

Where do you see your family in 5 years?
Probably stationed in California by then

What's your favorite color?
pink and purple - that should be obvious.

what is your favorite ice cream flavor?
vanilla with chocolate, fudge swirls

What is your favorite childhood memory?
Playing beauty shop with my mom and sister, we would fix each others hair.

What are you wearing on your feet right now?
Toe socks!! I love toe socks!!

Are you a night owl or a morning person?
definitely a night owl

What's the last movie you watched?
Twilight! I bought it on Saturday and Hubby and I watched it that night. He had not seen it yet, I got to see it in the theater!

Kissimmee (Gotta love the name, right?)

How would you like to win a Free vacation? Wouldn’t we all; win a trip to Kissimmee, the heart of Florida! Kissimmee is where Walt Disney World, Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom (and more) are located! My Mom and I went to Disney World after my High School Graduation, we had so much fun! I can’t wait to take my kids some day.

But there is so much more there than just the theme parks. Not that I don’t love theme parks, I could spend a week at each one! But there are Free attractions too.
Hubby would enjoy the Old Town Complex, Friday nights there is an array of custom and exotic cars and also there is the “Saturday Nite Cruise”, an 18-year tradition, featuring classic cars. I have to admit, I’m not a car buff but I would enjoy that too. I enjoy looking at classic cars.
I would like to go to Kissimmee’s Historic Downtown District. There is an authentic 1898 "Cracker House," 1900s general store, a blacksmith shop, war memorials, antique shops and so much more. I love seeing what it was like to live back in the 1800’s and 1900’s. Not that I would want to live back then, I like modern technology too much… But it’s still fascinating to me.

Hot day, time to cool off at the water parks! There are several to choose from. Water parks are definitely fun for the whole family, young and old. Just don’t forget the sun screen, wouldn’t want to ruin the rest of your trip.Enter to win a Kissimmee vacation (take me with you if you win)!

Welcome to My Party!

Ultimate Blog Party 2009
It's Here! The Ultimate Blog Party! Join the fun from March 20-27!

Hi, thanks for stopping by!
Scroll down and listen to some of my favorite music!

If your new here, let me introduce myself:
I'm "Mrs. Marine" I'm a stay at home Mom. Hubby has been in for 7 1/2 years now. We just had our 7 year anniversary! We have two children, Princess is almost 6 and Bobo is almost 2.
We are in the process of reenlisting and will soon be sent to our 3rd duty station. Hubby will be retiring after 20 years in the Marine Corp - were going all the way.
Stick around and browse through my blog and leave me a comment so I can make sure to visit you as well!

I have a fun comment game I have seen several times around the blogosphere. Sorry I do not remember where I saw it first, its been a while... (You do not have to be participating in the Blog Party to play)

Comment game: BLOG MY BLOG
I will ask a question. The first person that comments, please answer my question. Once you’re done, include a question for the next visitor to answer. It can be any kind of question or even fill in the blank sentence. This is a family blog, so please keep it clean.
Then the next commenter will answer the question from the previous comment and then think up something for the next person (if someone forgets to leave a question answer mine).

Q: Do the monsters live under your bed or in the closet?

Everlasting Gobstopper??

I received a lot of great comments on Yesterdays post! Thanks everyone!
Sheila had the same thought as me, an Everlasting Gobstopper. Kaye guessed its a ball. There were a couple guesses of Jello, LOL. Two guesses its an eraser. Nothing Too Fancy said it looked like homemade soap. That was my favorite. It would be cool looking soap.

-The answer to yesterdays WW question-
Princess brought this home from school one day and my first though when I looked at it was that it looked like a large Everlasting Gobstopper... It's actually just a rubber bouncy ball.

"Everlasting Gobstopper" from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Found this pic on the internet of an Everlasting Gobstopper

Tourette Syndrome

When most people hear the words Tourette Syndrome, they automatically think of someone who yells out profanity or hits themselves involuntary. That is the worst case scenario and its rare.
I had TS growing up, it was not diagnosed until I was 13. I had a very mild case. I have long since grown out of it.

I am starting to wonder if my daughter has it. I have learned recently that it is an inherited disorder. So either of my children could get it.
For a while now she has been showing some symptoms that could be Tourettes. Ticks, as there called. She has always been very fidgety, which may or may not be anything.
She picks at her fingernails and toenails, she makes them bleed from picking them. That's been going on for a while now. But more recently she licks her upper lip until it is red and chapped. I put carmex on it constantly but it wont go away because she wont stop doing it (that is something I did as a child, I don't know how long it lasted).
Also, for the last two weeks she is constantly clearing her throat. (That "tick" bothers me the most, because not only does that hurt her throat, but clearing the throat, specifically, it listed as a symptom of TS).

All of these things could be nothing or it could be TS. That's what makes it hard to diagnose. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with a child with TS? Someone who might be able to give me some advice. Obviously the only way I can maybe get an answer is to take her to a Doctor. But first I am just curious if anyone has any experience in the matter.

Yesterday was Summer, Today was Winter

I get Princess from the bus at 3:30.
Yesterday I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, it was 80 degrees! Today I was wearing my wool coat, a sweatshirt underneath, and a hat (and of course pants) it was 44 degrees....
This stinks. I preferred yesterdays weather, it was so nice.
I am SO ready for Spring! I just wish it would hurry up and get here. I am tired of the cold.

What's in a name?

I have been debating for a while about changing the name of this blog. The URL will stay the same. But the name in the header will change.

Does anyone know, would changing the Name effect my ranks? The URL is not changing?

The names I have thought about are:
1. Mrs. Marine
2. Mrs. Marine & the Little Troops
3. Mrs Marine & the Tiny Troops

Which name do you like best? I'm leaning towards #3. I will still keep my M&M people because there unique and I love them.

Hubby's Casadias

The other night Hubby decided to make casadias. I was standing next to him as he opened up the fridge and pulled out tortillas, cheese, butter, pepperoni, then eggs?? I said, "what are you doing?" He looked at me with a grin and said, "Just trust me!"
Sounds like a weird combo right, eggs and peperoni? THEY WERE SO GOOD!

shredded cheese (we used mozzarella and cheddar)
ranch (optional)

Hubby cooked them on a large flat grill, but a large skillet might work as well.
Butter both sides of the tortillas and lay them flat on the grill, flipping once, to brown both sides.
Scramble eggs while the tortillas are cooking (I believe he used one egg for each casadia).
After flipping the tortilla over (browned side is up) sprinkle with cheese and place peperoni (like its a pizza). Once cheese is melted and opposite side is brown place scrambled eggs on one half, then fold other half over to create the casadia!
Cut and eat! We dipped them in ranch and they were YUMMY!!!

Apparently Hubby and his buddy (whom he shared a kitchen with on deployment) bought a flat grill and created this recipe together!
I was questioned Hubby as to why he had not made these for me sooner, hes been holding out on me, LOL.

Paid Surveys $$$ Opinion Outpost

I have signed up for A LOT of different companies that claim to have paid surveys, when all I ever got were surveys that would enter me into a contest or drawing. I DON'T WANT THAT. I wanted a guarantee that if I took the time to complete a survey I would get actual compensation for it. And not just a few cents.
Well, I finally found one! Opinion Outpost - They send you paid surveys via Email.
It is based on a point system, which I was a little leery of at first. But theirs is a good system; 10 points equals $1.00 The surveys I have seen range from 14 - 65 points each = $1.40 - $6.50 per survey. Not bad for 5-10 minutes of your time. I get several surveys a week from them. Also, the minimum payout amount is only $5.00, unlike others where you have to have $20-30 to get a check.
The surveys do expire, so if you wait too long to complete one you will miss the opportunity, but don't worry, they wont punish you for it or cancel your account. I know, because I have missed a lot of them. I'm a procrastinator, big time.
I almost forgot to mention the best part, SIGN UP IS FREE!!! You DO NOT have to pay Opinion Outpost to sign up with them!!!
So, check it out if you would like to Get Paid to take Surveys!

Wordless Wednesday - Snow Daffodils

I took these Monday.... Poor Daffodils, and I was just admiring how pretty they were a few days ago, now there covered in snow...

Mrs. Marine

Snow Day - LOL

We had a "Snow Day" yesterday. School was canceled, traffic was a mess, even Hubby didn't have to go into work until 10:00 AM.
How much snow did we get you ask? Maybe an inch if even that. LOL. I laugh because I grew up in Colorado, where schools didn't get canceled unless there was a blizzard. I'm talking at least 6 inches of snow.
It's just too funny. But that's what its like being on the East Coast where it rarely ever snows. We have been here for 3 years now and up until yesterday I had not seen anything but a few flurries. Once they stuck to the ground but were melted 30 minutes later....
The snow is still on the ground today. But it is supposed to be in the 70's over the weekend!
I don't like snow and cold, I prefer not to freeze my butt off, I like warm weather. And I cant wait till it gets here and stays! The first day of spring is March 20!
