Hubby is Home!!!

Hubby was not supposed to be home for another two months. But surprise, hes home!! Which is great, but it also has some bad consequences. He was not supposed to leave again. This was supposed to be his last deployment. But to put it simply, he is getting screwed again and they are trying to make it hard for him to get out of the military.
He will be leaving again in August... For a long time, it will be our longest separation ever.

It is so nice to have him home. But the consequences really suck....

Little Man Got Stitches :(

Last weekend Little Man (1 1/2) fell and hit his forehead on the wood frame of the rocking chair in our living room. He had to get three stitches.
I think I was more traumatized by the whole experience then he was. But I am proud of myself that I did remain calm. Although I was shaking from head to toe and had to fight back the tears while sitting in the waiting room at the hospital.
The only time Little Man got really upset was when they had to hold him down to put the stitches in his head. He does not like to be messed with.
The stitches came out Thursday and its healing up well. Luckily he is young so the scar will have plenty of time to fade. Boys don't care about scars as much anyway.
Just like his daddy, he will probably have them all over his head....

Needless to say, the rocking chair now has padding tied onto it so this will not happen again.

When is your birthday?

I made a Birthday Blog List! I got this idea from an email. Its impossible to keep a list accurate via email when it is being forwarded around to dozens of different people. The list would work better if it was on a web site. So here it is, click the link and check it out!
365 Birthdays!

I have started a Birthday blog list. I hope to have at lease one birthday listed for every day of the year, but the more the better!

A Unique Best Friends Necklace

My mother bought two of these necklaces for me and my best friend my Freshman year in High School. My friends said "Friends Forever" mine (pictured below) says "Best Friends". I have had it for 10 years now and there was a time when I wore it every day. So as you can see it is very scratched up.
I would love to find another one. One that says love or something like that. Unfortunately my mother does not remember where she got it. I tried searching online with no luck. So, I am on a quest and thought maybe someone will read this and can tell me where I can buy another one.

When it spins the two sides mesh together to read "Best Friends"

Sweet & Sour Sausage Crock Pot

The blog "Nothing to Fancy" writes a weekly post called "Crock pot cook along". She asked me what my favorite crock pot recipe is. Well, this is actually hubby's favorite but I like it too.
I could have sworn I posted this a long time ago, but I couldn't find it on my blog. I guess I meant to but never did. Anyway here it is:

Sweet & Sour Sausage Dish
*Makes 8-10 servings*
I cut this recipe in half for my family - see the amounts in ( )

2 20-oz. cans pineapple chunks, drained (1 can)
2 large green peppers, sliced into bite-sized strips (1 pepper)
3 16-oz. pkgs. smoked sausage, cut into 1" chunks (1 1/2 pkgs.)
18-oz. bottle honey barbecue sauce (only use half bottle)

1. Combine pineapples, peppers, and sausage chunks in slow cooker.
2. Pour barbecue sauce over mixture and stir.
3. Cover and cook on High 3 hours, or Low 6 hours, or until dish i heated through.

This is from the book "Fix-It and Forget-It 5-ingredient favorites" by Phyllis Pellman Good

I prefer to cook it on High so the sausage does not get as soft. Also if you cut the recipe in half like me then you have half a package of sausage left over. I like to use it up by cooking it in a skillet and put into Mac-N-Cheese!

Lots of Changes in 2009...

Hubby will finally be home in March and will never deploy again. March is also our 7 year wedding anniversary. I get my husband home as a present!
In April I will say goodbye to my 20's and hit the big 3 0... UGH, I don't think I am ready for that one but I know when it actually hits I probably wont feel any different.
In May the kids turn 6 and 2.
In November hubby will be separating from the Military. And shortly there after become a civilian once again. I will no longer be a Military Wife! (I guess I'll have to rename my blog)
We will be moving to wherever his next job takes us. So we will be selling our house and buying another one, a bigger one. We need a bigger house, we have already outgrown this one.
Which means we will have to get this house ready to sell. Not looking forward to that part. When your house is on the market it has to be presented like you don't live there. How do I do that with two kids? I will be asking for advice when the time comes. I wish we could move out before we put it on the market. But we cant pay two mortgages.... We will figure it out.
