Happy New Year! What's Your Resolution?

Gold New Year

I resolve to be more organized and procrastinate less.
(Yea right, that will never happen, I can dream right?)
What's your New Years Resolution?

UPDATE 9:38 PM: By the way, I am home alone (kids are definitely in bed) by myself. I suck, its New Years Eve and I am sitting home... Hubby is across the ocean, asleep now because he is many hours ahead. He went to bed early because he has not been feeling well. I am doing some blog hopping and Entrecard dropping. Yippee. Woohoo, Happy New Year! I am going to start watching all the countdown shows at 10:00. I may even fall asleep on the couch before midnight, who knows... Arnt I exiting?

UPDATE 10:41 PM: Still blog hopping and watching NBC's New Year's Eve show. I havent fallen asleep yet. Bella (the dog) is groaning at me wanting to know why I have not gone to bed yet...

I DID IT! I Forced Tulips to Bloom!

I ordered tulip bulbs online a while ago and they sat in my fridge a few weeks before I got around to planting any of them.
I planted these on December 14th. And LOOK! There growing. I did it! There are 5 bulbs and 5 little green buds! I love tulips and I have never seen them grow from scratch. I am exited (in case you couldn't tell already)!
I wonder how long it will take them to grow flower buds? Anyone know? I figure sometime in January or February I will get to see the beautiful colors! I will post more pictures as they grow.
The best part is I have 15 more bulbs in my fridge so I get to do this over and over again and always have tulips in my window! Yeah!

DECLINED (I had a crappy day yesterday)

My mom went back home Saturday. I avoid going to the store with both kids at all costs. Mainly Princess, she is quite naughty at the store and so if she is with me it takes me twice as long. Little Man is a good boy at the store. He loves to people watch and say "HI" to people who smile at him.
So, I had tried to go to the store by myself Friday while my mom was still here but unfortunately the Commissary (Military grocery store) was closed. I could have gone to the local grocery store but I just couldn't justify spending so much more. Everything is cheaper at the commissary and there is no tax!
So, I went yesterday with both kids. Princess wined the whole time and complained. Needless to say by the time I finished and got to the checkout line I was ready to have it over and done with. I tried to get cash at the checkout and accidentally entered my pin number wrong twice which LOCKED MY DEBIT CARD. I had no way to pay for the groceries.
Luckily they offered to hold my groceries while I ran home to get my check book. Fortunately I don't live very far. Ugh, I was ready to cry by that point, I was just all around frustrated. The shopping trip which I had hoped would only take an hour, took two and it was also Little Man's lunch and nap time.
By the way, I called the bank after I got home and was able to unlock the card and reset my pin number.

Best News Ever!!

Three more months left and Hubby will NEVER be deployed again!!!!!!!!!!!
Hubby has just over a year left in the Military. Not too long after he gets back from deployment he will be leaving the platoon he is in. And until just a few days ago we were unsure where he would go from there. We had out hops, but no guarantee. No guarantee that he would not be sent on another deployment which would make it very difficult for him to plan and get ready for his new career.
Hubby now knows where he will be going. He will be going to another platoon and helping them train. They will not be deploying during the time hubby is with them!

When he told me that this is officially his last deployment, tears welled up in my eyes. That is the greatest news I have had in a long time. It puts a smile on my face even now.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Something has finally gone our way.

Baby's Hug - an e-mail

(This story was forwarded to me via email, I wanted to share it)

We were the only family with children in the restaurant. I sat Erik in a high chair and noticed everyone was quietly sitting and talking. Suddenly, Erik squealed with glee and said, 'Hi.' He pounded his fat baby hands on the high chair tray. His eyes were crinkled in laughter and his mouth was bared in a toothless grin, as he wriggled and giggled with merriment.
I looked around and saw the source of his merriment. It was a man whose pants were baggy with a zipper at half-mast and his toes poked out of would-be shoes His shirt was dirty and his hair was uncombed and unwashed. His whiskers were too short to be called a beard and his nose was so varicose it looked like a road map.
We were too far from him to smell, but I was sure he smelled. His hands waved and flapped on loose wrists. 'Hi there, baby; hi there, big boy. I see ya, buster,' the man said to Erik.
My husband and I exchanged looks, 'What do we do?'
Erik continued to laugh and answer, 'Hi.'
Everyone in the restaurant noticed and looked at us and then at the man. The old geezer was creating a nuisance with my beautiful baby. Our meal came and the man began shouting from across the room, 'Do ya patty cake ? Do you know peek-a-boo? Hey, look, he knows peek-a-boo.'
Nobody thought the old man was cute. He was obviously drunk.
My husband and I were embarrassed. We ate in silence; all except for Erik, who was running through his repertoire for the admiring skid-row bum, who in turn, reciprocated with his cute comments.
We finally got through the meal and headed for the door. My husband went to pay the check and told me to meet him in the parking lot. The old man sat poised between me and the door. 'Lord, just let me out of here before he speaks to me or Erik,' I prayed. As I drew closer to the man, I turned my back trying to sidestep him and avoid any air he might be breathing. As I did, Erik leaned over my arm, reaching with both arms in a baby's 'pick-me-up' position. Before I could stop him, Erik had propelled himself from my arms to the man.
Suddenly a very old smelly man and a very young baby consummated their love and kinship. Erik in an act of total trust, love, and submission laid his tiny head upon the man's ragged shoulder. The man's eyes closed, and I saw tears hover beneath his lashes. His aged hands full of grime, pain, and hard labor, cradled my baby's bottom and stroked his back. No two beings have ever loved so deeply for so short a time.
I stood awestruck. The old man rocked and cradled Erik in his arms and his eyes opened and set squarely on mine. He said in a firm commanding voice, 'You take care of this baby.'
Somehow I managed, 'I will,' from a throat that contained a stone.
He pried Erik from his chest, lovingly and longingly, as though he were in pain. I received my baby, and the man said, 'God bless you, ma'am, you've given me my Christmas gift.'
I said nothing more than a muttered thanks. With Erik in my arms, I ran for the car. My husband was wondering why I was crying and holding Erik so tightly, and why I was saying, 'My God, my God, forgive me.'
I had just witnessed Christ's love shown through the innocence of a tiny child who saw no sin, who made no judgment; a child who saw a soul, and a mother who saw a suit of clothes. I was a Christian who was blind, holding a child who was not. I felt it was God asking, 'Are you willing to share your son for a moment?' when He shared His for all eternity.
The ragged old man, unwittingly, had reminded me, 'To enter the Kingdom of God , we must become as little children.'

'It is better to be liked for the true you, than to be loved for who people think you are......

Since when does Overcharge?

This is what my daughter is getting from Santa!!! I am exited, I always wanted a dollhouse when I was little, never had one. So I have wanted to get her one for years now, she is finally the right age. It comes with the family shown (dad, mom, and baby boy and girl) and I also got a big sister to go with it. Its our family plus a baby girl.
I employed the grandmothers to help buy room accessories for the house not knowing they were going to be SOLD OUT everywhere and hard to find online. The grandmas are in another state so they like to shop online, its easier.

Well, every website I cam across was sold out of the main accessories I wanted, Except But the problem is, they were charging TWICE the price for everything. I had thought Amazon had always had good prices. Now I have not bought anything from in a while, but I have noticed other things on Amazon being more expensive there. When did that happen? I am completely appalled at the prices of the dollhouse stuff, its ridiculous. Has anyone else noticed this?
Look at this; this one bathroom set, on Amazon $26.60 - Toys"R"Us $8.99 (Are you kidding me!)

Although technically Amazon does not actually have the products, everything is "sold" and shipped through another company, but the products are still on Amazons site listed at the outrageous prices, all in all it still affects there reputation in my eyes. Luckily I always search for the best price when shopping online.

By the way, one grandma went to a Toys"R"Us store and and the other went to the web site and we finally managed to get everything we wanted!!

To My Hubby - All I Want for Christmas Is You

My house is decorated for Christmas and I am really missing my husband. We have been very lucky, the last time he missed Christmas was during boot camp in 2002, before we had kids. This is the first time he has been deployed during Christmas. It doesn't make it any easier.

This is from the movie "Love Actually" - Its a great movie.
